Jacobson-Westergard & Associates, Inc. was founded in 1970 in Estherville, Iowa.  It was a result of a merger of the civil engineering branch of Dale D. Jacobson, Inc. of Estherville, Iowa and Westergard Engineering of Spirit Lake, Iowa.  The firm provides services of civil engineering and land surveying to municipalities, governments and private concerns in Northwest Iowa and Southwest Minnesota.

In 1981, Robert V. Bendixen, a licensed land surveyor, began buying the business from Mr. Jacobson and Mr. Westergard, who at this point, pursued further interests outside the organization. Bob's position on the Board of Directors currently is Vice President. 

In 1983, another partner was welcomed to the team.  Richard A. Hopper took a position with the firm as Director of Engineering and serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary-Treasurer.

An additional partner came into the picture in 1999.  Scott A. Brunsvold, a licensed civil engineer, was elected to the Board of Directors and is currently serving as President.

Currently our staff consists of 13 full-time employees.
