Listed below is a brief profile for all JW&A
employees. The key personnel are highlighted and are linked to a more
in-depth personal profile.
JASON R. BENDIXEN, Field Technician
Jason joined the firm in 2005. He has
been busy mostly working with our livestock operation permitting department
assisting with topo work, soil sampling and water testing. Jason returned
to his hometown after being in the Sioux Falls area for several years working
for several different companies while there. He takes after his father,
Bob, as far as work ethic and dedication. We're glad to have him with us!
ROBERT V. BENDIXEN, L.S.
Bob is a licensed land surveyor, part owner and currently
serving as Vice President of
the Board of Directors for JW&A.
Bob keeps busy with scheduling duties, keeping our technical equipment up to
date, and of course with surveys for private, municipal, state and federal
concerns. He also is involved with subdivision design. Bob has been
with the firm since its inception except for the time he served in
Vietnam.
PATRICK N. BOGGESS,
CADD Draftsman/Survey Technician
Pat started his career with this firm in August of 2000. He fulfilled his
practicum requirements for his two-year computer-aided drafting degree from the
local community college here. We liked his work so well, we decided to
keep him on full-time. Pat started out working mostly on strictly
drafting, but this past year was in charge of staking for a stretch
of the Iowa Highway 60 project near Sheldon, and will be busy this year on dairy
projects. Pat is originally from Estherville.
SCOTT A. BRUNSVOLD, P.E.
Scott, a licensed engineer, has been with the firm since 1984 and
specializes in municipal street design. Scott received his education (BSCE)
at Iowa State University. He, wife Becky and son Brandon reside in
Estherville and are both lifelong residents of the area. All of his
engineering experience has been with Jacobson-Westergard. He currently
is President of
the board of directors and is a part-owner.
CHRISTOPHER L. HANSON,
Head of Drafting
Department
Chris started with Jacobson-Westergard in 1998. He has an A.A. degree in
CADD, also from Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville. He comes from
a farm family and we appreciate his hard-working traits he learned on the
farm. He is very adept with AutoCAD and carries out his tasks with a good
attitude. Chris lives in rural Spirit Lake.
DALLAS L.
HEIKENS, P.E.
Dallas is a graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Civil
Engineering. She joined the firm in 1995 and has been assisting with
project design, staking and inspection. Dallas is a native of Lake Park
and returned to the area from Ames when her husband Jason was relocated here for
employment. Dallas is
currently licensed in both Iowa and Minnesota and has been very busy this past
year with livestock confinements.
RICHARD A. HOPPER, P.E.
Rick is the Director of Engineering and is currently serving as
Secretary/Treasurer
of the Board of
Directors. He received his education from Iowa State University with a
B.S. in Civil Engineering. Rick started his employment with us in 1983
after being employed by other private consultants for 5 years, the Iowa
Department of Transportation for 4 years and working in Malaysia and Saudi
Arabia for 2 years. Rick primarily specializes in drainage projects for JW&A.
Rick lives in rural Wallingford (Ingham Lake) with his wife Connie.
KEVIN M. MUSTARD,
Survey Assistant
Kevin joined us in August of 2006. We
have been keeping his busy with surveys, topos, concrete testing, construction staking and he has
also been getting involved in soils
classification. Kevin resides in Estherville.
JEFFREY L. ROSE, P.E.
Jeff has been with the firm since 1995 after graduating from ISU with a B.S.
in Civil Engineering. Jeff is a project engineer, performing design from
start to finish, including overseeing construction staking and inspection of the
project. Jeff is our LID specialist which is becoming very big in the Iowa
Great Lakes Region to protect the quality of the lakes. Jeff resides in
Estherville with his wife Amy and children, Devin, Preston and Macy.
NICHOLAUS J. ROWE,
P.E.
Nic started full-time with JW&A on May 12, 2003, immediately following his
graduation from South Dakota State University with a degree in Ag
Engineering. Nic is very busy with the permitting and engineering
of livestock operations, mainly dairies and cattle confinements. Nic
recently became licensed as a Professional Engineer. Nic lives in rural Jackson, Minnesota with his wife,
Tara and new baby son, Weston.
LORI L. SMITH, Office Manager
Lori has been with the firm since 1979. She handles or oversees all
aspects of financial records for the corporation including billing, payroll,
accounts payable and general ledger. Lori lives in rural
Estherville with her husband Gary.
EUGENE A. SORBO, C.E.T.
Gene has been with the firm since 1969, starting with one of the
parent firms, Dale D. Jacobson, Inc. He is certified through the
National Institute of Construction & Engineering Technologies (NICET).
He is also trained and certified to perform density testing with our nuclear
density gauge. Gene is one of our inspectors and is a survey party
chief. He lives in Estherville with his wife Deanna.
CHRISTOPHER J.
TOWELL, Professional Survey
Intern
Chris has been with JW&A since 1997 and is awaiting the date that he can
take his exam to become a licensed surveyor in the spring of 2008. He has an A.A. degree from ILCC
in Estherville in CADD. He also attended ISU for 1 year. Chris
recently got married and lives in Estherville with his wife LuWanda and two
stepsons.
JULIE L. WILLEY,
Administrative Assistant
Julie has been with the firm since 1996. She had worked for various
businesses before joining our team. She handles all outgoing paperwork,
contract documents for construction projects, payroll, not to mention numerous
other tasks that make the day-to-day operation run smoothly. She does all
this with so much energy and efficiency. She is truly amazing!
She lives in Estherville with
husband Jim.
